1994 Data East The Who's Tommy Pinball Machine

Based on the Tony Award-winning, smash-hit Broadway musical, The Who's Tommy brings you back to the 1960's when pinball was king and the rock opera album was a hit with such songs as "Pinball Wizard" and "See Me, Feel Me", all of which are featured in this game and MORE! 21 songs in total, the most of any pinball machine!

You take on the role of Tommy, the deaf, dumb and blind kid who plays a mean pinball! To give you the feeling of being Tommy, the game has a unique feature - blinders!

During certain modes these blinders curl out and cover the flippers so you're playing blind! It really adds some excitement to the game! This pinball machine is one of the most popular titles from Data East pinball! Everyone knows Tommy, and this game would be excellent for a home with small children! And it's being sold with NO RESERVE!

Get this game into your basement, rec room or gameroom and watch your friends line up to play - up to 4 players at once!! It has a plunger skill shot, 3 pop bumbers, two ramps, and a unique mirror ball lock - hit it five times to start the ultimate Multiball!

This particular game is in decent condition. The playfield is excellent, with only small chips at the main upkicker hole on the right side, but otherwise shines beautifully. The flipper area, normally a problem on these games, and the whole playfield itself is in very nice condition. The plastic over the kick up hole is cracked, The game now plays fast and furious after a complete cleaning and tune-up!!! It has also been set to Free Play, ready for you to play immediately!!!

Some of the things I did when I cleaned this game include:

  • ALL new steel balls highly polished in my vibrating polisher
  • Replace ALL lamps
  • Replace ALL flashers
  • Replace or fix broken playfield devices
  • Clean, polish and wax ENTIRE playfield
  • Remove and clean ALL plastics by hand
  • Polish ALL metal parts
  • Adjust ALL switches
  • Replace ALL rubber
  • Clean ENTIRE cabinet
  • Clean backglass, back and front
  • Touch up paint where possible
  • Replace batteries on CPU
  • Extensively playtest the game to make sure it's fully working! (The best part!)

    There is over 30 HOURS of work into this game!

    The backglass on this game is excellent, with no marks or scratches. The cabinet sides are nice and yellow with some small marks around the flipper buttons, which is common on Data East games. The head has a few chips near the bottom on the head and some marks in the artwork. The front cabinet has NO hasp holes, a very uncommon sight on games these days! In addition, the display is brand-new NOS - bright with zero burn-in! A $150 value!

    Here are lots of pictures to show the condition of this game (sorry if some of them are a bit washed out due to the flash - playfield is very shiny!!!) Note that the ball on top is not included, I traded it to another Tommy owner after these photos were taken.

    I ship games via Internet Freight and charges generally run in the $200-$300 range depending on location. There is a $60 charge for the palletizing and wrapping of the game for shipping to cover materials. I will gladly ship the game any way you choose, but Internet is generally 20-30% cheaper than other carriers!
